Most people tend to think of detailing as a luxury - something "extra" that they can do with their vehicle after all of the things they "have to do" are taken care of. The truth is detailing should be looked at as routine maintenance, the same as oil changes, break pads, and tune ups.

Ask someone what the most expensive part of their car to replace would be and most will automatically say "the engine" or "the transmission". The reality is your vehicle's paint could cost 2-3 TIMES more than a new engine or transmission! YIKES!

While swirls and scratches on your otherwise beautiful paint are an eyesore, the main culprit that kills most people's paint is the sun...oxidation, caused by exposure the sun, takes a toll on your car's paint and NO ONE is immune.

How do you hedge against this? Traditionally this is where having your vehicle waxed comes into the equation. Wax is designed to sit on top of the clear coat and provide a "sacrificial layer" to protect against the sun's UV rays...the problem? You have to apply the wax at regular intervals for it to be effective.

You have a couple of options here:

First, you could opt to "do it yourself"...not a bad option at all - we actually encourage people to take care of their vehicles themselves and are happy to provide suggestions and answer any questions they might have to help them get the best results possible (seriously- we LOVE to "talk shop" with people!) The only problem here is most people are busy and/or don't have a desire to go this route...

Second, you could hire a detailer (like us!) to do the work for you. For the best results, we recommend a full detail, including paint decontamination and reapplication of a good sealant every 3-4 months (generally no more than 6 months...that's like pushing your oil change an extra 1000 miles past its "due date")...the problem here: having your car professionally detailed 3-4 times per year can be expensive..

This is where ceramic coatings come into play: Ceramic coatings are long-term protection for your paint. Unlike waxes or sealants which simply sit on top of your paint and wear off over time, ceramic coatings are engineered to chemically bond to your paint, creating, in essence, a second "clear coat" (one that is MUCH cheaper to fix than your actual clear coat) that will last for years instead of months. While the up-front investment of ceramic coatings is much greater than a regular detail, the long-term savings in going this route makes this the cheapest AND most reliable way to protect your paint over the life of your car.

Generally, (assuming that you're treating detailing as maintenance - and you should be), the ceramic coating pays for itself within the first 12-18 months (comparing it to the cost of detailing over this same timeframe).

Additionally, to give you peace of mind, we offer an installer's warranty for the advertised life of the coating (ask your technician for details).

Finally, in addition to the insurance against oxidation the coating provides, there are many other tangible benefits that come along with it such as:

Enhanced gloss

Enhanced slickness

Water spot resistance

Bird dropping resistance

Ease of future cleaning (if you decide to "do it yourself")

Light scratch resistance

Now, to be clear, ceramic coatings are not a "set it and forget it" product (I would RUN from any detailer that claims that it is) - you still will need to do some maintenance and it is still recommended to have a professional give it a good detail every now and then (we still recommend AT LEAST once per year, but the coating gives you ALOT of grace in this area). Overall ceramic coatings are the most practical, cost effective long term solution to protecting your investment.
